Mission Statement
Our mission is to secure educational, social and welfare improvements in the lives of Sao Tome Citizens, without distinction to gender, sexual orientation, race or political, religious or other life styles. We will achieve our mission by advancing education and providing social welfare facilities for recreation and leisure. Our objectives include, improving the lives of Sao Tome citizens and their ability to contribute to their local communities.
This entails raising the profile of Sao Tome communities through cultural promotion and by pursuing excellence in technology, performing arts, business, and academia.
This requires united community support.
The Sao Tome e Principe Friends Association is a non-profitable organisation that exists to enable the Sao Tome e Principe Community to settle and integrate in the UK.
Aims & Objectives
- To provide quality services suitable to the needs of the Sao Tome e Principe Community;
- To organize and energize the Sao Tome and Principe Community in UK towards progression;
- To promote the ethos of self reliance and local social integration;
- Build a platform for Sao Tome and Principe and other communities, cooperating together for best of share information, and knowledge and skills;
- To encourage Sao Tome e Principe to fully access public services, for example, regeneration programmes, employment and training and cross-cultural events;
- To promote language skills, higher education among youth, organize recreation facilities and health awareness;
- To promote partnerships between Sao Tome and Principe and relevant agencies, such as Social Services, Education bodies, Emigration Services, potential investors and many more;
- To work in collaboration with other service providers to improve communication, the delivery of services and life-long learning skills to Sao tome e Principe Community in UK;
- To work with other African partnership organizations in the United Kingdom
