Youth Against Crimes (YACs) in conjunction with NewCEYs and supported by the Metropolitan Police are organising an interactive workshop called ‘Beat It’ at Priory Park Youth Centre, 106 Parr Road, East Ham, London E6 1HQ, on Saturday 26^th June 2010 from 10-4pm.

This interactive workshop will cover issues around tackling domestic violence, there will be discussions, information, etc on the day around violence, sexual health, drug and alcohol, etc, all issues which affect or trigger emotions resulting in violent behaviour.

There will be in-depth information, activities, and workshops on:

· Domestic Violence – looking at the effects of domestic violence, gaining self-confidence, looking at the different types of violence, i.e. verbal, physical mental, emotional, etc.

· Sexual Health – looking at issues such as rape, etc which result from domestic violence, looking at how people can look after themselves and be safe when they are out, being aware of your surroundings.

· Drug and Alcohol – looking at how drinking alcohol or being under the influence of drugs can trigger your emotions and cause people to act in a violent way.

Food and refreshments will also be provided on the day.
